Make your Loved One feel Special this Valentine’s on a Budget

Valentine’s is a day celebrated across the world by people in love and here in Kenya, we are not left behind by all the hullabaloo it comes with.

It is during this day that men and especially women who are either dating or married expect grand gestures from their partners.

With the hard economic times that Kenyans are experiencing, it might not come as a surprise that most of us will not be able to afford grand and expensive gestures for our partners.

Nonetheless, the economy shouldn’t be an excuse for you not being able to appreciate your partner this Valentine’s.

This Valentine’s falls on a Friday so you have from Friday and the whole weekend to show your partner just how much they mean to you.

If you want to make your lover feel special and appreciated this Valentine’s day but are on a constrained budget, here are some activities to consider:

Stay in and cook

If you and your partner enjoy each other’s company and can’t get your hands off each other, then staying in and preparing your favourite meal is the perfect plan this Valentine’s.

Get some wine to go with the food and add some candles to set a romantic ambiance. After dinner cuddle on the sofa with a movie after dinner and watch your love tanks fill to the brim.

Oloolua Nature Walk

Located Karen, Nairobi, this is the perfect experience for you and your lover this Valentine’s if you are an adventurous couple.

At the Oloolua forest, you can do a short hike, jog along the trail, walk your dogs or enjoy a relaxing picnic in the serene setting.

Entrance for you and your lover is only 400 shillings each.

Psycho 60 Escape Rooms

If you have a group of friends where you are all dating, then this is the perfect couple’s group date this Valentine’s.

Psycho 60 Escape Rooms in Nairobi is an interactive, real-life and immersive escape room adventure designed for a small group of people who will have to work together as a team to solve challenging puzzles, crack codes, decode messages, find hidden items while using keen observation and critical thinking in order to escape the room before time runs out! Creativity and Resourcefulness are some of your keys to freedom. There is only one mission: ESCAPE!

Panari Sky Center – Ice skating

The ice skating rink in The Panari Sky Centre in Nairobi is the only one of its kind in East Africa and is usually open 7 days a week from 11:00 am till 10:00 pm.

This will be a lifetime experience for you and your lover. Skating rates have been kept very low so you and your loved one will each pay 1000 shillings per 60 minutes inclusive of the skating boots.
