Roads To Be Closed To Pave Way For Former President Moi’s Procession

Kenya has been mourning after the death of former President Daniel Moi on 4th February 2020 with his body expected to be moved to Parliament Buildings on Saturday the 8th February 2020.

A number of roads will be closed in the city to allow the procession to move from the Lee Funeral home to Parliament Buildings.

Former President Moi, who died at the Nairobi Hospital at the age of 95 years ruled Kenya for 24 years with Kenyans being divided on his rule.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, in his proclamation, announced that the second President would be accorded a state burial.

Among others, Moi is expected to be accorded a 19 gun salute where his coffin will be draped in the national flag.

Roads that will be closed to allow the procession carrying President Moi to make is way to Parliament Buildings include:

Valley Road

Ralph Bunche

Kenyatta Avenue

Uhuru Highway

City Hall way

Parliament way

The roads will be closed as from 7 am and expected to result to heavy traffic.

The body of former President Daniel Moi will be viewed for the next three days as from Saturday 8th February to 11th February 2020.

Kenyans have been given the 11th of February 2020 as a public holiday to give them a break from work to go view the body of former President Moi at the Parliament Buildings
