Shock, Pain As Family Receives Body Of Kahawa Wendani MCA At JKIA

MCA Kahawa Wendani

The body of the late Kahawa Wendani MCA Cyrus Omondi arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Monday, 17th February 2020, at around 8:45 pm to a grief-hit family that was overwhelmed by emotions.

Their son and kin, the late Kahawa Wendani MCA Cyrus Omondi had left Kenya as fit as a fiddle and had flown to India in an official capacity where he was attending an educational workshop.

Sadly, Cyrus returned to Kenya in a coffin and his family can not come into terms with how their son who was not elderly or sickly at all could have suffered a heart attack as they were informed.

The body of Cyrus Omondi was received by close family members, friends, and relatives who were also joined by the Kiambu County leadership.

Cyrus Omondi was hailed as the only MCA who had managed to woe the constituents of Kiambu to vote him into office despite having come from a different community.

Cyrus Omondi had been instrumental in the impeachment of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinard Waititu and most of the flawed projects by the Governor were in the late Omondi’s area of jurisdiction.

The body of the Kahawa Wendani MCA has been moved to the Lee Funeral home where members of the public are encouraged to gather for viewing.

The Kahawa Wendani MCA Omondi, who was popularly known as ‘Gearbox’, or ‘Cyro’, is reported to have suffered a heart attack and died last week while on official duty in India.

“Cyrus left Nairobi on Thursday last week. On Friday, he called to inform me that he had arrived safely,” the late Kahawa Wendani’s wife Jacqueline Mwongeli had earlier said.

“He was jovial and asked how the children were fairing. I told him we were ok,” Jacqueline, Kahawa Wendani MCA’s wife had said adding that it was to be the last communication from the husband who said he had arrived safely in India on Friday.

The Kahawa Wendani MCA leaves behind a wife and three children with the last born being one and a half years. May His Soul Rest In Peace.
