Country Music Legend Kenny Rogers Is Dead

Vocalist and country music legend who dominated the charts in the 1970s and 80s, Kenny Rogers has died at the age of 81.

According to the family, Kenny Rogers died “peacefully at his home from natural causes” but did not give more information on what the legend was suffering from.

“The Rodgers family is sad to announce that Kenny Rogers passed away last night at 10:25 pm at the age of 81. Rogers passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family,” said the family via a Twitter post.

Due to the ongoing spread of the deadly Coronavirus, the family is planning for a small private burial ceremony for him.

Kenny Rogers is the maker of the popular hit “The Gambler” that has been reproduced in other genres including reggae.

Rogers announced his retirement in September 2015 with telling his fans that he “had enjoyed every opportunity and did not want to take too long to retire.”

“In a career that spanned for more than 6 decades, Kenny Rogers left an indelible mark on the history of American music,” said the family.
