World Bank Set To Release The Kenya Economic Update

The World Bank Group (Kenya) is set to release the 21st Edition of Kenya Economic Update titled Turbulent Times for Growth in Kenya Policy options under the COVID-19 Global Pandemic on Wednesday.

The release of the report will air live on NTV Kenya and will unpack all the finer details of how the Kenyan economy is reacting to the effects of the deadly Covid-19.

The report comes at a time Kenya is battling one of the worst pandemics to have ever hit the world, affecting economies and throwing businesses off the balance threatening to take the whole global economy into recession.

As of Tuesday, April 28, 2020, Kenya had registered a total of 374 confirmed cases of the deadly virus. The report by the World Bank Group will break down while giving projections on how the economy in Kenya is reacting to the pandemic.

Since the confirmation of the first case of Covid-19 in Kenya, businesses have been hard hit with numerous of them such as bars, clubs, hotels, and the transport sectors have shut down with millions of people rendered jobless.

Many economic analysts, including those from Cytonn Investments, have broken the year 2020 as one that will bring most economic giants to their knees as governments move to converge resources towards fighting the virus.
