The row in the Jubilee Party has taken a new twist after the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal has issued interim orders to stop the coalition with the Kenya Alliance of National Unity (KANU) party.

While nullifying the KANU Jubilee Party coalition, the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal has said that the coalition agreement with Kanu cannot stand as it violated article 10,38 and 91 of the constitution of Kenya, the Political Parties Act regulation 21 and Article 32.2 of the Jubilee Party Constitution.

The tribunal has ruled that that the post-election coalition also violated Regulation 21 of the Political Parties (Registration) Regulations, 2019 which now makes it unconstitutional.

“Any decision emanating is therefrom invalid, illegal and has no effect in law,” the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal ruling read.
