Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has been rushed to an Eldoret Hospital after he was involved in a car accident at Kapseret Center along Eldoret-Kapsabet road on the night of Friday, June 5, 2020.

Sources revealed that Senator Cherargei was driving alone in his car from Nandi County to his home in Uasin Gishu at around 10 p.m. before the accident where his car veered off the road and hit barriers at the ongoing road construction.

Rescuers then rushed Senator Cherargei to St Lukes Hospital he is said to be in a stable condition as he only sustained minor injuries from the accident. His car, however, was seriously damaged.

Earlier during the day, Senator Cherargei was among the leaders who had accompanied the Deputy President William Ruto to a private ceremony in Nandi County.

DP Ruto and his allies had organized the meeting to discuss several agendas including preparation for the 2022 General elections and as well protect the DP from bad omens.

The Standard revealed that 50 Nandi leaders and some religious leaders met the DP. The meeting is said to have lasted for about 2 hours.

Among those who attended DP Ruto’s private ceremony were Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, and Soy Member of parliament Caleb Kositany.

Kenyans have however taken the incident to social media expressing their concern on why the Senator was out during the curfew hours while others placing the blame on DP Ruto for trying to ‘Sacrifice’ his followers.

The tweeps argued that Ruto has been accusing Raila Odinga of being a ‘Mganga’ (Witchdoctor) and yet his actions which include attending rituals at night prove that he is also a Mganga.

“We must be BRUTALLY HONEST, There is nothing wrong with #RutoTalaiRituals. Nothing at all. But INVESTING heavily in heaven, quoting the bible every day and even carrying yourself around as the most RELIGIOUS Christian only to run to traditional methods for protection is HYPOCRISY,” Lord Abraham Mutahi, a twitter user argued.
