President Donald Trump has threatened that he would end the ongoing protests in the US by directing heavily armed military officers to shoot at anyone who retaliates.
Trump who finally addressed the American nation on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, after being branded a coward on social media, announced that the heavily armed military will shoot at anyone who protests regardless of their race or color.
“I am aware that many thousands of people are unhappy at the killing of an unarmed black man by our State police, which is a terrible thing, but this rioting must end now, or we really will have to shoot them all, “Trump said during the address at White House Washington.
“The sort of non-violent protest that can’t be seen or heard, or that can in any way reflect badly on me. Look, I can understand that people are angry, and as your President of Law and Order I want to stop that anger.”
The Killing of an American Black man, George Floyd by a White Police spurred outrage in almost all states in America, and people have come out in numbers to engage police in riots as they seek justice for the deceased and his family.
Most Americans think it was an act of racism and they feel like black people are being mistreated when it comes to equity in the country and the recent event just proved that.
Thousands of Americans have flocked the streets of most states flouting the curfew rules that have been put by the US Government to curb the spread of Coronavirus. The protestors argue that racism is among the deadly viruses that should be contained.
According to sources, the protests have been ongoing for seven days and an estimated number of about 5,600 people have since been arrested.
However, Trump wants the riots to end and as he promised, he will end them by shooting and beating those found protesting in the streets.
“I have therefore decided that the only way to stop people protesting and rioting over police brutality and racial inequality in our beautiful country, is to instruct our heavily armed military to work with the police in ending these protests by violently beating and shooting any of the protesters who fail to comply.”
