Makadara Law Courts Closed After 14 Test Positive Of Covid-19

Makadara law court has been temporality closed down for 14 days in measures meant to avert the spread of covid-19. According to the statement, the judiciary revealed that two of its employees had tested positive for the virus.

All the staff was directed to proceed on self-quarantine as the court premises are fumigated to curb further spread of the disease that has so far called 250 people in the country.

“We direct that the court be closed for 14 days and all magistrate and staff to proceed on self-quarantine forthwith,” Chief Register of the Judiciary Ann Amadi Said.

The employees were urged to seek medical attention if they exhibit any coronavirus like symptoms. The court will be closed down between July 24 and July 25 to allow for disinfection.

The Mombasa court that was similarly closed after the identification of Covid-19 cases had was re-open on July 6^th and that all the affected staff had tested negative for the virus.

“There were no severe cases reported in Mombasa as the affected staff members were only asymptomatic and have since tested negative for Covid-19 pandemic,” The statement read.

“The judiciary urges its staff and court users and indeed all members of the public to continue adhering to the ministry of Health protocols on the covid-19 pandemic.”

Chief justice David Maraga ordered the closure of Mombasa Law court following the outbreak of the disease at the station where 11members including judicial officer and staff contracted coronavirus.
