Over 50,000 Download Safaricom’s M-PESA For Business App

Over 50,000 individuals and businesses have downloaded the new Safaricom’s M-PESA For Business App.

The move adds to Safaricom’s portfolio of businesses that have opted to go cashless in the wake of the spread of Covid-19. Currently, Safaricom is supporting over 186,000 businesses on their Lipa Na M-Pesa platform.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) called on people and businesses around the world to avoid coming in contact with banknotes that had the potential to harbor the Covid-19 virus and instead embrace the use of cashless modes of transaction.

In Kenya, President Uhuru Kenyatta called on Kenyans to use the cashless mode of transactions in paying for products and services to cut down on the spread of the virus.

For years, M-PESA has been instrumental in helping businesses around the country go cashless by supporting over 186,000 and helping them run their businesses smoothly by reducing leakages and improving accountability.
