Ugandans have called on the government to disarm the Local Defense Unit (LDU) officers, whom they accuse of taking part in murders in various parts of the country.

President Museveni together with the Uganda police deployed LDU officers in Uganda after the imposition of the curfew. These LDUs were meant to ensure that curfew is observed and respected within the country.

Sadly according to the citizens of Uganda, the LDU officers have turned from just ensuring the observing of the curfew directives to murdering citizens in cold blood, these continuous murders have forced Ugandans to lament out to the government.

LDU officers in Uganda have made it a tendency to brutalize, torture, and murder each and every citizen found out of their homes during Curfew time, these officers have also gone ahead to murder citizens in broad daylight.

According to sources, over 6000 Local Defense Unit (LDU) officers were recruited in Kampala. Reports say that LDUs were given authority by Uganda police to shoot and kill citizens.

Ugandans are calling out police and the government to disarm the LDU officers or take them back for further training, according to Ugandans the continuous murders may be due to lack of proper training or gun excitement.

Ugandans claim that LDU officers will murder more citizens compared to COVID-19 itself if the government and the Uganda police do not act immediately.

Ugandans insist that the police made it a tendency to cover-up for all the LDU broad daylight murders, the police releases statements claiming that the victims were murdered by a mob or were trying to fight the officer, which according to Ugandans is false.

3 Shocking LDU Murders.

On May 13, 2020, Uganda’s LDU officers Murdered Mukono Headmaster Mr. Eric Mutasiga after shooting him as he tried to stop theses LDUs from shooting a vendor who was found selling chapatti during curfew time.

On 4th July 2020, Emmanuel Tegu a third-year Veterinary student Doctor at Makerere University In Uganda succumbed to injuries after being tortured by the LDU officers at around 11:00 pm as he was heading home.

The Ugandan LDU officers in early June shot and killed a bodaboda rider on the spot as he tried to take a pregnant woman to any nearest hospital, all this was in the name of enforcing the president’s curfew directives.
