Police have arrested a robbery with violence suspect who is suspected to be behind several instances of robbery in violence reported in Eastmore area of Nakuru County.
James Maina Njuguna, a 52-year-old was nabbed by Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives from his hideout in Eastmore area.
According to the DCI, the detectives recovered an assortment of items from the suspect including; ID cards bearing different names, two driving licenses, a civilian Firearm Certificate bearing another person name, assorted electronic gadget among other items.
The suspect will be arraigned after the completion of investigations.

“Detectives based in Nakuru have arrested a notorious robbery with violence suspect namely JAMES MAINA NJUGUNA. The 52-year-old man has been nabbed from his hideout in Eastmore area & is believed to the mastermind behind a series of robbery reported in the area” Said DCI
“Assorted electronic gadget among other items that were recovered from his hideout has been retained as exhibits pending his arraignment” DCI Said.
His arrest came a day after a court sentenced a 62-year-old woman to 35 years behind bars after being found guilty of stealing vehicles in Nakuru, Nairobi and Mombasa counties.
Joyce Wairimu Kariuki, who had been at Shimo La Tewa GK Prison was accused of involvement in the robbery of motor vehicles between 2018 and 2019 in Nakuru, Nairobi, and Mombasa.
According to the records from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Wairimu was previously released from Shimo La Tewa prison after completing a 15-year jail term.
According to a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, Wairimu resumed her thievery despite having been released from prison.
