How Sophia Love Story Saved Luis Suarez Career

They were two teenagers who were deeply in love. When Luis Suarez at 15 years old he could never imagine the challenges, they could face. He also didn’t know he could have met the woman that could help him to become the best number 9 in the world.

They said the greatest stories are forged with fire. Here is a perfect example. Luis Suarez was 15 when he met 13-year-old Sophia. Love at first sight. They immediately fell in love. At the time Luis was a kid with few prospects in Uruguay. His parents were divorced and his father had left home when he was only 12. Coming from a very humble background, he cleaned floors and cars to earn a little money. Luis didn’t take playing football very seriously; he went out a lot often with the wrong crowd but when he met Sophia everything changed.

‘she sorted my head out. She helped me realize how important football was for me.’ Suarez.

Unfortunately, the two lovers had to face a huge test. Sophia’s family left Uruguay for Barcelona so she can have a better life in Spain. They were now separated by an ocean. Heartbreaking.

‘The night before I left, we were sitting at a bus stop. We were just crying. We thought we’d never see each other again.’ Sophia

This wound became Luis’s greatest strength. He gave it all to become a successful footballer so that he could play in Europe and see Sophia again. He joined FC Groningen at the age of 19.

‘ If Sophia had been In Uruguay I don’t know if I have gone to  Groningen. My first few days were very difficult. But I wanted to be closer with Sophia. We were suffering too much.’ Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez and Sophia decided to live in Holland. Suarez was so good that he signed for Ajax then Liverpool that he became a true beast. The striker joined Barcelona in 2014. He is now the best number 9 in the world. He gets better because of his wife.

Have you noticed that Suarez has calmed down and no longer get caught up in controversies well that’s next to Sophia whose influence has influenced his behavior in the field?

‘ My wife has made observation like; You were arguing with the referees and defenders so much. You didn’t really seem up to it; you might as well have not been in the pitch,’ Sophia

Luis and Sophia are now happily married with three children. Now if you see Suarez tearing defenses in Europe you will know that none of this will be possible without Sophia.
