Second Round Of Huduma Namba Registration Kicks Off In April

The second round of the controversial Huduma Namba registration is set to kick off in the month of April according to Government Spokesperson Cyrus Oguna.

Second Round Registration Elaborate measures have been instituted to allow for a second phase registration. They include capacity building of NRB and Civil Registration Service staff and civic education and publicity to members of the public,” he said.

Mr. Oguna was speaking to journalists during his weekly briefings on what the government was up to. “The exercise kicks off next month and will be continuous thereafter,” he said adding that all Kenyans will be required to take up the card this time around.

For Kenyans who had already registered for the first round, notification is being done via two separate SMSs. The first SMS informs the recipients that the card is ready and prompts them to select the preferred collection point. This message must be responded to within 3 days.

“Kenyans are urged to respond to the prompt SMS when they receive it. Issuance of Huduma Namba Card is free. Do not allow yourselves to be conned,” said the man.

The cards are issued throughout the week in Nairobi running between 8 a.m and 5 pm on weekdays and 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. In the other counties, it is between 8.00 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
