President Uhuru Kenyatta has locked down five counties of Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, Kiambu, and Nakuru to cut down on the spread of Covid-19 that has spiked across the country.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has locked down five counties of Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, Kiambu, and Nakuru to cut down on the spread of Covid-19 that has spiked across the country.

According to President Uhuru Kenyatta, 70 percent of the cases reported in the country come from the 5 counties. There shall be no cessation of movement by road, air, or water in and out of Nairobi, Machakos, Kajiado, Kiambu, and Nakuru.

Churches and places of worship in the 5 counties have been shut down until further notice. All Senate and National Assembly sittings have been suspended. The sale of alcohol in eateries and hotels has been suspended.

Curfew in the 5 counties of Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, Kiambu, and Nakuru will start from 8 pm to 4 am starting midnight. Employers have been ordered to allow their employees to work from home.
