Residents in Murang’a county have 5 days to pick their Huduma Namba cards. The majority of Murang’a residents have received text messages to go pick over 50,000 Huduma Namba cards, from various collection points in the country.

The collection exercise has been progressing slowly since the government commenced the issuing process in Feb 2021. Murang’a county Commissioner Muhammed Bare noted that only 5,000 cards have been collected in the past week.

He stated that the second collection phase will Begin in early May once 51,000 cards were collected. Only 10 percent of the 37 Million registered Kenyans have collected their cards.

During a press briefing, Government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna said, the Huduma Namba cards have been distributed to the 850 offices located in all 350 sub-counties in the 47 counties.

Mr. Oguna also warned Kenyans over fraudsters sending text messages demanding money from citizens to collect their cards.

“Please note that notification messages will only come to you from Huduma Namba and not any other phone number,” Oguna said.
