Thika Road Shut Down, Motorists Ordered To “Sleep On The Road”

There were chaos along Thika Road on Saturday night when police officers enforcing the curfew shut it down getting thousands of motorists without notice.

Thousands of motorists say they have been told by officers to “sleep on the road” to 4 am when the 8 pm to 4 am curfew will be over.

President Uhuru Kenyatta had declared curfew hours in the counties of Nairobi, Kajiado, Nakuru, Kiambu and Machakos to run from 8 pm to 4 am to “tame the spread of Covid-19.”

Other roads that have been shut down include Waiyaki Way, Lang’ata Road, and Kangundo Road. Police officers say they received orders from above. The whole of Nairobi County is in chaos.
