The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has launched a call for applications for 388 jobs with salaries ranging from 21,000 shillings.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has launched a call for applications for 388 jobs with salaries ranging from 21,000 shillings to 320,000 depending on the level ranging from entry to management positions.

All applicants are required to submit their application by Wednesday, June 2, and will be permanent and pensionable.

You are required to complete the applications by downloading the forms from www.odpp.go.ke or picking them from the DPP’s head office in Nairobi or in respective county offices if interested

National Identity card, Academic and professional certificates, letter of appointment to their current post, detailed Curriculum Vitae, original transcripts, and testimonials are among the documents to be attached in the forms

All applicants who are not ODPP staff are required to attach copies of valid discharge certificates from the following offices: Council for Higher Education and Loans (HELB), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Directorate Criminal Investigations (DCI), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) or any other professional body of which the candidate is a member.

Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions – 4 positions

Basic salary scale: Ksh321,453 – Ksh232,687

Requirement: Admission as Lawyer of the High Court of Kenya, the cumulative experience of 18 years from the date of admission as Lawyer of the High Court of Kenya, or having served three years at the level of Senior Deputy Director of public prosecutions.

-Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized university.

–Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Legal Education Council.

Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions -20 positions

Basic Salary scale: Ksh252,500- Ksh181,000

Conditions: Cumulative experience of 15 years from the date of admission as High Court of Kenya Advocate or having practiced for two years at the level of Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions.

-Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized university.

-Graduate degree in Legal Studies from the Legal Education Council, be a member of a recognized professional body.

Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions – 10 positions

Basic Salary scale: Ksh252,500- Ksh181,000

Requirements: Cumulative 15 years’ experience from the date of admission as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya or have served for two years at the level of Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions.

-Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized university.

-Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Council of Legal Education, be a member of a recognized professional body.

Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions – 10 positions

Basic salary scale: Ksh205,000-Ksh154,654

Duties: To review legislation, legal documents, opinions, and briefs to determine the responsibility of ODPP on various issues to reduce the exposure to legal risks, conduct prosecutions in line with the set policies, procedures, and laws to ensure the rulings delivered meet quality standards

Requirements: Cumulative 13 years’ experience from the date of admission as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya or have served two years at the level of Senior Principal Prosecution Counsel.

-Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized university

-Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Council of Legal Education

Senior Principal Prosecution Counsel – 38 positions, Basic salary scale: Ksh179,334-Ksh135,410

Responsibilities: possession of a master’s degree in law or any other social science from a recognized university.

-Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized university

Principal Prosecution Counsel – 5 positions; Basic salary: Ksh135,0000 – Ksh100,000

Requirements: possession of a master’s degree in law or any other social science from a recognized university.

Cumulative seven years’ experience from the date of admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya or have served two years at the level of Principal Prosecution Counsel.

-Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized university

-Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Council of Legal Education

Senior Prosecution Counsel -62 positions, Basic salary: Ksh125,460- Ksh92,277

Requirements: cumulative six years’ experience from the date of admission as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya or have served three years at the level of Prosecution Counsel.
-Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized university
-Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Council of Legal Education

Senior Records Management Officer- 3 positions; Basic Salary: Ksh117,905-Ksh85,388

Requirements: Served in the grade of Records Management Officer or in a relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of two years.

-bachelor’s degree in information science/ Records Management or relevant social sciences from a recognized institution

-Attended a supervisory course lasting not less than two weeks from a recognized institution.

Senior Human Resource Management Officer – 3 positions: Basic Salary: Ksh117,905-Ksh85,388

Requirements

-Served in the grade of Senior HR management officer or a relevant position in the wider Public Service for a minimum period of two years.
-Bachelor’s degree in either sociology, Public/ Business Administration, HR management, or any other relevant field
-Postgraduate Diploma in HR management from a recognized institution

Senior Economist /Statistician- 2 posts; Basic Salary: Ksh117,905- Ksh85,388

Requirement

Served for a cumulative number of seven years relevant experience,
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Economics, Statistics, Economics, and Mathematics, Economics and Statistics, Economics and Finance, or any other relevant field

Clerical Officer- 7 posts; Basic salary: Ksh46,721-Ksh21,950

Requirements:

-KCSE mean grade C plain or equivalent from a recognized institution

-Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution

Other positions include prosecution counsel (105 posts), senior ICT officer, (four posts), senior administrative officer (11 posts), administrative officer (three posts), research officers (30 posts), driver (25 posts), office assistant (seven posts), information officer (two posts).

Senior Assistant Director Administration (two posts), Chief finance officer (one post), chief accountant (one post), Chief internal auditor (one post), senior assistant director records management (one post), assistant director supply chain management (one post), assistant director administration (one post)
