Who Is Georgina Maria Malombe And What Makes Her Stick Out?

Success is interesting sometimes. In most cases, we wait for it to land in large portions. The truth is, it often lands in small portions. All we have to do is to collect the small portions and make them big. That is a success. Difficult to define.

Elections of the members of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) are coming up. Many are in the race. Words are flying with each of the contestants trying their best to tell you why they are the best.

But have you heard about FCPA Georgina Maria Malombe? We are talking about a dynamic, resourceful, self-driven, and highly skilled finance and accounting professional with over 20 years of work experience who is running for the ICPAK Council Member for 2021.

Sitting down with Georgina brings out a lady with a transformative mindset who is motivated by a positive attitude and passion for winning with integrity. She is a leader who takes people to where she knows they need to be.

“My experience in Accounting, Audit, Public Finance Management and Corporate Governance in both private and public sectors give me the confidence in driving positive change in organizations at all stakeholder levels,” says Georgina.

Georgina has had her days in the education sector. She is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K), holds and a BSc. Agribusiness Management from Egerton University, has a Masters of Business Administration, Finance Option from the University of Nairobi.

Georgina also holds a Certificate in Arbitration, Administered by Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK Chapter. She is on the way towards holding a Post-graduate Diploma in Tax Administration (KESRA). She has completed the Certified Executive Leadership Coach, Coaching Development Institute of Africa.

Along her career journey, Georgina worked as an Auditor at Kibiego Kiptum & Co. (CPA-K). She also worked at the General Manager at NGB Bamburi SACCO Society Ltd, worked as CEO – Registration of Accountants Board.

She is not new within the corridors of ICPAK. She worked as a Manager, Public Policy and Governance, and also as Ag. Head of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs as ICPAK.

She is a practicing member of ICPAK with over 20years of practical experience currently serving as the Founder and Managing Partner of Gemal & Co- (CPA-K).

Georgina has also served in various boards, committees, and task forces. She previously participated in the task force that reviewed the KSNEB’s Finance & Accounting syllabuses as well as the Taskforce on the Development of a Masters Program in Public Finance Management at the Kenya School of Government.

She is a member of the Ethics Commission for Cooperative Societies (ECCOS). She is also serving as an Independent Non-Executive Board Member of KCB Group PLC. She is the immediate Chairperson of the Association of Women Accountants (AWAK).
