DCI Boss George Kinoti Reshuffles Organization by Moving 44 Officers

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss, George Kinoti has made key changes to the administration of the investigative body.

The latest changes conducted by Kinoti have affected 44 senior officers.

Joseph Mugwanja who has served at the organization’s headquarters has been replaced by DCI boss Bernard Nyakwaka whose been moved to the airport division.

Nyakwaka has spent less than three months at the Kiambu road headquarters of DCI since he started in May 2021.

Fatuma Hadi who served as the DCI boss in Kilimani has been replaced by Stephen Ole Tanki, who led the Gigiri unit.

Mombasa ATPU boss John Otieno now takes charge as the head of the country’s fight against terrorism from Gachomo who will now take over as the Head of Investigations from John Kariuki after he retired at the end of June this year.

Kitale DCI boss Paul Wachira replaces Assistant Inspector general of police Benson Nyakwaka. Nyandarua’s head Julias Rutere on the other hand has been recalled while his counterpart in Laikipia Francis Wanjau has been moved to Kisumu in a similar capacity.

Other important changes include the promotion of Pius Gitari as the Head of the Special Service Unit and Bernard Gicheru as the director of operations.

The Banking Fraud unit will now be headed by Carrey Nyawinda while David Chebii will head the call center from the counterfeit division.
