The family of Taimur Kariuki Hussein is asking Kenyans of goodwill to help them find him. He is missing. Hussein is said to have been arrested by ATPU officers near Lamu on June 11, 2021, and the family has not heard from him ever since.
The officers claimed that they had been following him for a while. After beating him up on allegations of “resisting arrest,” they held him to June 14 before he appeared in court. They dropped the charges on June 18 and transferred him to ATPU Nairobi.
On June 28, the officers again dropped all the charges against him at Kahawa Law Courts. The court asked them to release him unconditionally. His sister and mother were to receive him after the release. When they arrived at ATPU Nairobi, they were told that he had been released 30 minutes ago.
