Sarova Refutes Claims That Its Nairobi Hotel Has Been Sold

Sarova Hotels and Resorts Kenya has refuted claims doing rounds on social media that its Sarova Stanley (Nairobi) hotel has been sold to a business tycoon from Somalia.

The hotel has termed the posts as fake and generated by people who have some hidden agenda against the business calling on customers and Kenyans to ignore them.

“Sarova Hotels and Resorts Kenya would like to caution the public on a post making rounds on social media alleging that our Nairobi hotel, Sarova Stanley, has been bought by a Business Tycoon from Somalia. The aforementioned post is not factual and is FAKE NEWS,” said the hotel in a statement.

The posts came few days after the hotel re-opened its Nairobi City Hotel, Sarova Stanley, to the public after a temporary closure last year following the COVID-19 outbreak that hit the globe.

The re-opening, according to the hotel, mirrored optimism in the industry, that despite the challenges facing the hotel industry, players are resilient. In recent times hotels across the country have been focusing on creating an environment ready for guests as travel begins to resume normalcy.

“Sarova Hotels and Resorts Kenya would further like to notify the public that if a sale of any of our hotels was to take place, an official statement from the Company’s Board of Directors would be released,” the hotel added in a statement on Twitter.
