Who Is Caroline Kangogo, The Killer Cop Shooting Men?

KEY POINTS
Kangongo, 34 years old, was born in 1987 in Kamogich, Elgeyo Marakwet County. She attended Nyawa Primary school and later joined St Alphonsus Mutei Girls high school where she scored a mean grade of C- in 2006 shortly before joining the police force.
Caroline Kangongo, a rogue police officer, described as armed and dangerous by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has reportedly shot and killed two men believed to have been in a romantic relationship with her and still on the loose.
Kangongo, 34 years old, was born in 1987 in Kamogich, Elgeyo Marakwet County. She attended Nyawa Primary school and later joined St Alphonsus Mutei Girls high school where she scored a mean grade of C- in 2006 shortly before joining the police force.
Kangongo who is now a mother of two is the firstborn daughter to Barnaba Korir ( a retired police inspector) and Leah Kangongo from Rift valley Province.
She joined Keiyo Professional Counselors where she acquired a certificate in BASIC Skills in Peer Counselling.
She later joined the Kenya police college in Kiganjo in August 2008 where she attained a first-class in shooting classification. She also trained as a corporal in the same learning institution.
She has worked in three police stations, Kaloleni Police Station and Kenya Police College respectively before she was posted to Kasarani Police Station, Nakuru county where her work has been exemplary according to Nakuru County Police Commander, Beatrice Kiraguri.
Although there’s no clarity to this, she is said to have been married to a senior police officer attached to the Maritime Police Unit in Mombasa. The two later separated due to infidelity and only agreed to co-parent.
When corporal Caroline was first accused of a police constable John Ogweno of Kasarani police lines in Nakuru, many thought tris was just one of the many cases of love gone sour incidences that lead to murder.
In less than 24 hours later, this woman was linked to another murder case of Peter Ndigwa in Kiambu county. Kangongo is believed to have lured Ndigwa to Dedamax Hotel in Kimbo, Juja at around 4 pm on Tuesday, July 6 where she reportedly shot him dead and left for hiding.
According to her colleagues, Kangongo is known to have lived a quiet life with an amiable, calm, and cheerful attitude.
Others also said that she is not afraid of confrontations and, and many times respond with force when under tight conditions especially after hooking up with alcohol. One time she fought her husband publicly.
Well-placed sources in the investigating team revealed that Caroline had sent a chilling message to her husband that she would also go after him.
Nakuru county criminal investigations officer Anthony Sunguti established that Caroline had been in communication with several dangerous criminals pursued by the police, according to her phone records in one of her phones recovered near a fence she is alleged to have passed through while escaping.
Earlier yesterday, Kangongo was reportedly seen in Kisii where she might be targeting her next target according to Citizen TV.
She is believed to be going after Kisii-based doctor, Nyash Monyenyi in her next killing spree after a photo that he posed with Caroline went viral.
Monyenyi has, however, come out on his Facebook account to explain that the suspect was his client and the only had a professional relationship with her stating that it has been months since they last saw each other.
It’s hard to establish the reason for Kangongo’s bitterness towards these men. Kenyans have since developed theories that maybe she is on a revenge mission after being infected with HIV/AIDS from these men. Others say that it’s the influence of alcohol, while others think that she’s under the influence of something evil that is directing her towards her victims.
While many others are still left wondering what kind of human being has the courage to slain two and still plans on doing the same to others, only Kangongo has the answer to all these questions. It seems that she however not moved by the fact that she’s a now nationwide wanted criminal.
The DCI has since cautioned members of the public especially men, to be on the look for the rogue officer, who is luring men to her trap before executing them in cold blood
“Let nobody trust her since she is armed and dangerous. should you spot the suspect who is covering herself in a buibui, do not hesitate to contact us,” said the DCI.
Her parents have put her in their prayers and pleaded with her to turn herself in since she also a police officer who understands the law.
