TSC To Recruit 6,000 Interns, Here Is The Salary And How To Apply

Teachers Services Commission, TSC, plans to recruit at least 6,000 teachers by December 2021. The recruited teachers will be expected to take their internship posts in early January when they will be posted in schools.

According to Nancy Macharia, TSC Chief Executive, the additional employee will ease the teacher’s workload as enrolment rises due to the government’s 100 percent transition from primary to secondary school policy.

“This is a commendable government effort to ensure quality learning and teaching in our public schools,” Nancy Macharia said.

She added that the recruitment of 6,000 teachers on internship will cost the commission 1.2 billion shillings. The 100 percent transition policy and commended the government for more funds for recruiting more teachers.

We appreciate the government for allocating TSC funds annually for the recruitment of additional tea hers since the 100 percent transition program was launched.

In January, TSC enrolled 6,000 teachers into the internship program. The interns were given the upper hand in the just concluded recruitment of 8,000 teachers after they were awarded up to 30 marks, giving them an edge over their competitor

The lawmakers argued that the decision to award the tutors extra marks will be detrimental to thousands of unemployed teachers, some of whom have tarmacked for more than 10 years.

They said the move is an irregularity and demanded that the Education ministry and the leadership of the TSC explain the rationale behind the decision that could condemn the employed lot to further misery.

Of the 6,000 vacancies internship, only 2,000 will go to primary schools while the rest 4,000 will be reserved for secondary schools. The recruitment will start in late November and early December when the current internship contracts expire.

TSC hires teachers based on the marks, with those with the highest score standing a better chance to land the job on permanent and pensionable terms.

Those in primary school get a monthly stipend of 15, 000 shillings per month while those in secondary receive 20, 000 shillings

  • Have an insurance cover
  • Certificate of Good Conduct
  • Minimum of p1 certificate for primary school interns’ applicants
  • Minimum of a diploma in education for secondary school interns

  3. Then go to Teachers/ Secretariat
  4. Then click on Apply for Teachers Internship positions.
  5. You will be redirected to TSC hrmis App where you will have to apply
  6. Fill the required information to the last page until you complete your online application form
