Hungary Gives 200 More Scholarships Kenyan Students

The government of Hungary through the ministry of education in Kenya announced a 200 scholarship opportunity for studies to eligible Kenyan students who wish to pursue both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in various programs.

Amb. Simon Nabukwesi, the Principal Secretary State Department for university education and research said that the scholarship program is a bilateral cooperation between Kenya and Hungary launched in 2013 as part of the government policy known as the Eastern and Southern Opening.

“The program’s core mission is to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and encourage Hungarian higher  education institutions to attract top foreign students.” Said Amb Simon during the launch of the education fair in Nairobi.

According to Amb Nabuwesi, the areas of study provided through the scholarship are aligned to the Kenyan government’s big four agenda programs in Agriculture, manufacturing, medical science, and architecture as well as industrialization and achievement of other National development priorities as defined in the vision 2030.

The Hungarian government has been offering scholarships to Kenyan students since the 2016/2017 academic year under the stipend Hangurium Scholarship which has now increased from 50 to 200 since inception.

The Hungarian Ambassador to Kenya H.E Mr. Szolt said that Hungary will continue investing in Education to enable the young Kenyans to pursue quality higher learning experiences in Hungary.

Eligible Kenyan youths who qualify for these scholarship opportunities have been encouraged and advised to take advantage and send their applications.
