The lists that are arranged per County (and which can be downloaded here) include the shortlisted applicants for the 892 teaching vacancies in secondary schools to support the government policy on 100 percent transition of learners from primary to secondary schools.

Also available are merit lists for teachers who applied for the 2053 vacancies to replace teachers who exited service through natural attrition posts for primary schools and 892 posts for secondary schools. The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.

For primary schools, vacancies will be filled by using the 2020/2021 Merit Lists generated in September 2021 and which are available at the TSC County Offices, countrywide.

Last month, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) announced 2,945 vacancies to replace teachers exiting the teaching service through natural attrition.

Of the total number,2,053 teachers will fill vacant positions left in primary schools while 892 tutors will be posted in secondary schools across the country. The teachers will serve on permanent and pensionable terms.

According to TSC, in the latest recruitment, they clarified that primary school teachers will not apply for the replacement vacancies through the online platform but will be selected from the merit list compiled during the recruitment of additional teachers in July 2021.

Merit lists for each county can be accessed at the county headquarters. These lists are very instrumental during this recruitment exercise since they make one make a proper decision as far as attending interviews is concerned.

Please note that:

  1. The Teachers Service Commission Recruitment Guidelines 2021/2022 FY shall apply.
  2. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
  3. In the case of primary schools, successful candidates will be posted to serve in any part of the country where vacancies exist and not necessarily in the county where they were recruited.
  4. Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce original professional and academic certificates
  5. Successful candidates must not fill out more than one Application for Employment Form. Filling of two or more Application for Employment Forms will lead to disqualification
  6. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously been employed by the Teachers Service Commission
  7. Manually filled applications will not be accepted
