What Next For Mt. Kenya? Azimio Or Kenya Kwanza?

He has been called names. He appears to be taking too long to strike. Many Kenyans have underrated him. What could he be up to? Amidst the raging season of political intolerance, tantrums, mischief, and manipulation, President Uhuru Kenyatta is a man whose mission remains unknown to many.

Even his own close allies seem not to understand him quite well. What exactly is Mr. Kenyatta up to? Why would an outgoing president be so concerned about his own succession politics? No one has come out clearly to vividly explain why the president falls out with his deputy, H.E. William Ruto.

Why would the president suddenly decide to make peace with his lifetime political rival, the Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, and even offer to openly back his presidential bid amidst strong opposition from his own deputy’s allies? A lot has been said but still, nothing satisfactorily clarifies any of these weighty matters.

Sagana state lounge has repeatedly been on the headlines over the past few months. So far, President Uhuru Kenyatta has held two meetings at Sagana state lounge and is set to hold the third meeting on Wednesday 23^rd February 2022. The meeting will be attended by mt. Kenya stakeholders, amongst them, are politicians, the youth, and the business community.

Uhuru is expected to give a political direction to his community. Will it be welcomed or ignored? Well, this is debatable. This son of the former President is a man who has recently been ignoring immense pressure from a number of politicians who think that his active involvement in politics might turn out to be chaotic. Some say he may easily taint his legacy, and have repeatedly asked him to wait for his term to elapse, them retire peacefully like his predecessor, Mwai Kibaki did.

On the other end, pro-Azimio La Umoja Movement allies have blatantly dismissed claims that Uhuru should not be involved in this year’s active politics. As expected, the Sagana three declaration, to be chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta among other Mt. Kenya’s influential leaders and top business moguls have heralded mixed reactions. What next for Mt. Kenya? Azimio la Umola Movement or Kenya Kwanza?
