DStv & GOtv To Bring CAF Lovers Some Great Matches

SuperSport viewers on DStv and GOtv can look forward to continental club action from the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup this weekend, with matches scheduled for Friday 1, Saturday 2, and Sunday 3 April 2022.

The action opens in the CAF Champions League on the evening of Friday 1 April, with Wydad Casablanca playing host to Petro de Luanda, at the same time that Sagrada Esperanca visits Zamalek in Cairo.

More CAFCL action comes your way through Saturday 2 April, with Mamelodi Sundowns playing host to Al Merrikh and Al Ahly welcoming Al Hilal in afternoon clashes, while the early evening sees AmaZulu looking to claim a win away in Guinea when they face Horoya AC.

The key clash is Ahly at home to Hilal in Cairo, as the teams compete for the only remaining quarterfinal berth in the top-tier competition. “We want to make sure we progress into the next round,” said Red Devils coach Pitso Mosimane. “We have had tough group stages before and gone on to win the tournament. We can do it again this year.”

Sunday 3 April brings a quartet of games from the CAF Confederation Cup, starting off in the early evening with Orlando Pirates playing host to Al Ittihad. Concurrent games see Royal Leopard tackle JS Saoura, while Simba SC will face USGN. The evening game comes from Egypt and sees Pyramids FC play host to Zanaco.

Despite already securing qualification to the quarterfinals, Pirates coach Mandla Ncikazi wants his team to defeat Ittihad and secure the top spot: “We’re playing at home, we have to win the match. I’m happy that our team played and qualified. We’re not going to change anything, we going to play to win and get 15 points if it’s possible.

He added, “To us, all matches are played to win, that’s the team, that’s a professional side. It’s not going to be an easy match but we’re going to play our best team and we’re going to play to win.”
