Grita Muthoni First Female to Declare Bid for 2022 Presidency

Business Woman Grita Muthoni is officially in the race for the top seat in the upcoming August polls.

This bold step makes her the first and only female presidential aspirant in the August race. She announced that she would be running on the Ford Asili party ticket.

“I Grita Muthoni, therefore offer to be your fifth president together. We improve lives and livelihoods, making Kenya a happy nation to our citizens and attractive to our visitors,” she said.

Muthoni’s vision seeks to make decisions that will ensure the inclusivity of women and youth in the government processes.

“This is your nation. You’re not refugees; it is your nation; you’re free, and you should make decisions which will touch your children until fifty years to come,” said Muthoni.

She went ahead to challenge the electorates urging them to make informed political choices that will be able to reflect positivity for them and their dependents even in the future.

Muthoni, who was previously the Chair and President of the Kenya Going Green Campaign, which aims to plant 50 million trees by the end of 2023, also urged the congregation to think about the character of the leaders they will be voting for in various elective positions, warning them not to fall for politicians’ sweet words.

As a businesswoman, Muthoni also promised that once in government, she would be able to push for policies that support a conducive business environment that will bring growth to the sector.

Before entering politics, Muthoni was a member of the Global Governing Council of the European Digital University Education USA in Blockchain Certification Application

She will be racing it out with Raila Odinga of Azimio la Umoja Party, William Ruto of UDA, and National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi.

The lady joins a list of other bold female politicians who have declared their bids in various political positions, especially the gubernatorial seats.
