287 Candidates Caught In Malpractice Might Miss Their KCSE Results

As the marking of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary education edges towards the end, there are speculations and worries that the 287 candidates who were found with exam irregulates will not get their results.

The students who sat at the 2021 KCSE had their results canceled because of malpractices during the exam period between March 14^th and 1^st April 2022.

The Education Cabinet Secretary prof George Magoha disclosed that the ministry had received clear evidence that the students cheated on the examinations.

Out of the 287 students, 112 had unauthorized materials in the exam room.  A total of 44 mobile phones were also found.

Before the marking began, the ministry announced that 35 marking centers had been chosen for the exercise in some secondary schools and tertiary institutions in order of the subjects.

Some of the institutions chosen for the exercise include Alliance High School, State House Girls, Sunshine High School, Limuru Girls, Starehe Girls, Thika High, Buru Buru High School, Moi Forces Academy, Upper Hill High, Loreto Girls, St George High, Langata High, Kenya High, Moi Girls Isinya, and Lenana School.

The Ministry indicated that after completing the marking process and releasing the results, the candidates would start enrolling in Universities as early as June 2022

On the hand, those who will be joining Technical Vocational Training institutions will participate at the beginning of September 2022.
