The term entrepreneur has been widely talked about. Some may know the clear definition of an entrepreneur and some may not. Some may even have heard of the term for the first time, but in this present post, we will toss aside what you know and introduce to you different types of these business persons.

Here are some of the types of entrepreneurs.

  • The Curious One

These are entrepreneurs who always have a nose for something new. They are always keen to want to know how something was, is and will be and are always on the lookout for what can be done to better what is already in place.

They are always asking questions and are what we may call opportunists who will never leave any opportunity to pass by without being utilized.

They see opportunities in almost everything even when others are seeing nothing like an opportunity.

  • The Risker-Taker

Many people have failed to achieve in life not because they are failures but simply because they fear taking risks.

The risk taker is an entrepreneur who is always out to take the path that is less taken in terms of investment knowing very well the reward at the end of it all.

He or she always hopes for the best and prepares for the worst and always wants to explore new openings and see whether he or she can realize some gains.

He does not care if someone before tried what he or she is about to try and failed but what he cares about is that he or she knows what he wants.

  • The Inventor

This is the scientist entrepreneur. He is not necessarily a genius in the scientific world but he or she is always out to create something new.

He or she does not fear failure and every setback that they encounter always acts as a stepping stone for other great ideas.

They are always trying to create something new even if they do not have the backing of the majority.

  • The Leader

As the term suggests, this entrepreneur is a leader. He or she is a perfectionist who always makes sure that his or her team produces the best out of everything.

He or she is a true leader who does not take all the credit on himself or herself but leaves his or her juniors to take the credit as they are motivated to achieve more and more.

This entrepreneur works through others and he or she is always striving to lift others and support them to becoming entrepreneurs.

He or she is an inspirational leader that has innate charisma – the ability to make their staff, customers; investors follow them to the ends of the earth.

They inspire passion amongst those who work for them and build deep loyalty with their customers.

  • The Tenderer

As the term suggests, this is the leading kind of entrepreneur in the country. They specialize in looking for tenders in GOK offices and would do anything to get them. They love media attention and they wheel deal a lot.

They dabble in inspiration for the younger generation on how hard they work when in reality, it’s work for the youth, money for them. They use social media as a tool to clean themselves up as they talk of challenges they have encountered when in reality none exist.

  • The Embezzler

This is the kind of entrepreneur that knows how to play the media. Knows how to use social media to clean up their rise to money through PR. They work in a firm, run it down, suggest that it be sold, and then they buy it through proxies and nurture it again.

They lack the needed creativity to have honest ideas that can grow from a start-up to a brand. They destroy that of another, sell it and buy it through their own ways and claim ownership. They reverse the normal adage of fattening a cow to sell at the market. Kenya is full of them.
