How To Apply For KCPE And KCSE Examiners Training 2022 Online

Are you interested to be trained as a KNEC Examiner? KNEC has advertised training opportunities for teachers to prepare them to become examiners for the 2022 KCPE, KCSE, Primary Teacher Education (PTE), Diploma in Teacher Education (DTE), and Business and Technical examinations.

Application exercise for the examiners’ training will be done online by 25th September 2022.

The 2022 training which is set to take place between 3rd and 9th October 2022, requires one to follow the following procedure to secure a chance:

First, each applicant will be required to pay a training fee of 10,500 shillings through KNEC Mpesa pay bill Number: 819313 using your registered mobile phone number.

The applicant shall indicate the applicable examination, i.e., KCPE; KCSE; PTE; DTE; Business or Technical, as the Account Number.

The MPESA Reference Number must be captured on the application form in the space provided.

Qualified applicants will be trained to mark the above examinations. Successful trainees will be incorporated into KNEC Examiners’ database.

KNEC will thereafter engage such examiners using criteria for recruitment of examiners based on the needs.

Some of the considerations that the Council makes when selecting examiners for training include;

• Regional balancing; such that all areas are given consideration,
• Age of the examiner
• Gender balancing
• Work experience
• Professional qualifications among others

If you are already trained as examiners and are in the KNEC database of examiners, then you need not apply for the training. You should only create a KNEC CP2 Account for contracted professionals.

The Kenya National Examinations Council, KNEC, carries out training for examiners annually or from time to time as the need arises. The training of new examiners is normally informed by:

• Increased candidature
• Need to replace exited examiners and
• Whenever new exam papers are introduced.
