However, one of the officers was heard saying that they have too much work to handle for teachers in the whole county. TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia said the exercise which started on 9th June 2022 is aimed at protecting its employees from fraudsters and in turn help enhance the security features of its various system.

She added that the TPAY system handles teachers’ and secretariat pay slips, p9 statements, control sheets, Third Party transactions, applications, and approval of the loan process. Macharia says users of the system have faced security challenges in the past fraudsters have used details of legit users of the system to gain access to the system.

According to TSC, heads of institutions have a duty to verify and approve the profile of teachers under their supervision. This means that teachers’ TPAY profile validation is not complete unless that school head approves the details.

TSC through the circular says heads of institutions who will not have validation of the particulars of teachers under their supervision within the stipulated time, together with their teachers will not be able to access their TPAY accounts.

This means that teachers who will fail in this exercise will be barred from processing loans or any third-party transaction. The teachers will not be able to access payslips.

Due to the lack of enough details related to teachers in the TSC database, quality services offered to teachers will be affected negatively too. In addition show, cause letters will be issued to the teacher who will fail in adhering to TSC policies and instructions leading to the loss of jobs.
