TSC Releases Date For Publishing Names Of Shortlisted Teachers And Interviews

Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has released the official dates of a nationwide recruiting drive in an effort to alleviate the critical tutor shortage in schools.
According to TSC, they will publish on its official website names of teachers who will be successfully shortlisted in the ongoing recruitment. TSC said it will publish the shortlisted candidates on its websites from Wednesday 13th, 2022 July to Friday 15th July 2022.
The commission indicated that there are 5,000 new openings and an additional 8,230 positions to replace teachers who have left the service as a result of attrition.
Currently, TSC has a total 0f 345,316 teachers on its payroll. Of this, 228,126 are primary school teachers, 116,024 are secondary school teachers and 1,166 are TTC tutors. Currently, TSC is still grappling with teachers shortage and it requires a total of 114,581 teachers to plug the shortage.

Garissa, West Pokot, Wajir, and Narok counties headline the list of counties with the highest staff shortages. A closer look at this list shows that most of these areas are largely hardship areas.
Nairobi, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Uasin Gishu, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Murang’a, Meru, Isiolo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Embu, and Kiambu counties are more comfortable in terms of meeting their staffing needs.
