The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is set to announce the new president of the Republic of Kenya this Monday. The Commission says that only 32 constituencies are remaining to be announced but they have already been verified.

Kenyans are anxiously waiting for the announcement from the Bomas of Kenya with both camps; Kenya Kwanza and Azimio One Kenya Alliance proclaiming that they have won the elections. Celebrations have also been reported in some parts of the country.

Tuesday is the last day for the winner of the Presidential election to be announced but the IEBC said that they will not use all seven days under the law. Given that all the 290 constituencies have been tallied, with 32 yet to be announced, the process is as good as done.
One of the Presidential candidates David Mwaure has already conceded defeat. Surprisingly, after conceding defeat, he endorsed William Ruto saying that having been at Bomas of Kenya, he has realized that he is the winner of the presidential elections.
As things stand, William Ruto of Kenya Kwanza is leading with 6,406,388 followed by Raila Odinga with 6,025,940 votes.
