UON Announces Scholarships, Requirements And How To Apply

The University of Nairobi, UON, has announced the availability of scholarships for students seeking to advance their academic qualifications.

In a notice shared on Monday, August 29, 2022, the University noted that it was offering 137 master’s scholarships in the 2022/2023 academic year. Applicants were instructed to submit their application in September with the deadline set for September 23rd.

“University of Nairobi is offering 137 master’s scholarships for the 2022/2023 academic year. The applications are open only to applicants for the September 2022 intake,” read the notice in part

How To Apply

The notice further indicated that the scholarship is conditional and tenable for a period of two years except in courses where the Master’s degree lasts longer than two years. The four-year program includes the Departments of Medicine and Dental Sciences, which run for four years.

Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree from the UON during the academic year 2021/2022 except Departments of Medicine, Dental Sciences, and Nursing Sciences which require mandatory two (2) years of practical experience before admission into the master’s program.

The scholarship is also Offred to students who possess either first-class honors or second-class upper division and successful candidates must comply with terms and conditions.

“Scholarships are for full-time students only; the student has to take the maximum number of units per semester, and successful students must comply with the terms and conditions of the scholarship and complete their studies within the stipulated program duration,” added the statement.

To apply, each candidate must send their letters addressed to the deans of their respective schools. Each application must include an application letter addressed to the Dean, a letter of admission, and certified copies of the degree certificate and transcripts. Once successful, the scholarship must be taken at the time of offer with no deferments or withdrawals.
