In what can only be described as a rejuvenated and renewed hope, Kenya’s football giant, Gor Mahia FC, has signed a three-year partnership with popular gaming company SportPesa. The partnership now renews Gor’s hopes after months of financial shocks.
Gor Mahia and SportPesa have partnered once again in a deal worth 80 million shillings per season. As the official shirt sponsor, the SportPesa name is back on Gor Mahia’s playing kit, and perhaps another new journey in sponsoring great talents in Kenya.
In what Gor Mahia termed as ‘coming back home’ the club said the move was necessitated by the need for holistic support beyond financial aspects. The team says the partnership wouldn’t have come at a better time than now and vowed to capitalize on the opportunity.
The club’s chairman Ambrose Rachier said SportPesa is a valuable partner owing to the many value additions it offered the team previously, noting that it helped grow the Gor brand as well as presented great opportunities for many of its then players.
“I remember with a lot of nostalgia the great days of our partnership with SportPesa. We played against Everton for their pre-season maiden tour of East Africa back in 2017 and were also accorded the honor to play a game against the same team in November 2018 at their home ground in Liverpool, UK,” said the club’s chairman Ambrose Rachier.
SportPesa CEO Capt. Ronald Karauri said the company was looking forward to working with Gor Mahia FC again, expressing his delight at having the team back in the fold.
“We welcome back home our former partner Gor Mahia. In our previous years of engagement, we achieved a lot of firsts, shattering the ceiling on what is achievable in our local football scene,” Capt. Karauri said during the glitzy launch event held at the Sarit Centre in Nairobi.
As part of this partnership, Sportpesa will fully kit sponsor the first team and technical bench, cover the medical insurance costs for the club’s players as well as cater for the team’s travel and accommodation expenses as they participate in African Inter-Club Competition.
Meanwhile, SportPesa is still giving Kenyans opportunities to win millions of shillings in jackpots. The company has both the Mega Jackpot and the Midweek Jackpot.
The Mega Jackpot is currently at 245,396,380 shillings (245.3 million shillings) while the Midweek Jackpot is at 32,476,327 shillings (32.4 million shillings.)
One needs 99 shillings to place for a Midweek Jackpot bet. One can place as many Midweek Jackpots as possible provided their pocket can allow them to go on. To win the whole amount, one needs to make 13 correct predictions and just like that, they will be millionaires.
One can place for the Midweek Jackpot in four major ways; Website, App, or through USSD. Bets can also be made via SMS to 79079 which is now free of charge. For web placing of the Mega Jackpot, this link can be of help https://bit.ly/3riOZNG.
