The Teacher Service Commission, TSC, has kicked off the process of deploying 1000 primary school teachers to secondary schools across the country.
TSC advertised 1000 employment posts in 2019 and another 1000 in September last year and has finished issuing deployment letters for successful applicants.
Knut Secretary General, Collins Oyuu noted the deployment process has been ongoing.
‘‘The process of deployment started long ago. It has been an ongoing process in readiness for the next year’s Junior Secondary transition,’’ Oyuu said.
The promoted PTE graduate teachers start at job Grade C2 at a salary of 34,955 shillings per month and will move to job grade C2 upon completion of three years according to Career Progression Guidelines (CPG) for teachers.
“Successful candidates under this category will be appointed at T-scale 7, grade C2 as per the career Progression Guidelines for teachers and shall be deployed to secondary schools where vacancies will be available,” said TSC.
