Examiners Marking KCSE CRE Paper 2 On Strike

KCSE is being marked in at least 35 centers across the country. It was expected that the marking would be concluded during the week to enable the release of the same.

A section of examiners taking part in the marking of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) has downed their tools complaining of strict measures in marking as well low pay. Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced.

KCSE is being marked in at least 35 centers across the country. It was expected that the marking would be concluded during the week to enable the release of the same. The downing of the tools by the examiners is set to disrupt the plans of the Education ministry.

KNEC says the CRE Paper 2 examiners first complained about the Chief Examiners for giving them strict rules. The Chief Examiner was changed and they started complaining about the pay being poor and wanted the amount increased.
