Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Commissioner General Githii Mburu has resigned. His position has been taken over by Rispah Simiyu in an acting capacity.
In a statement sent out by KRA to the public, Githii Mburu is said to have resigned to “pursue personal interests”, coming as a shocker for someone who seemed so passionate about collecting taxes and keeping the government running.

Here is the statement:
But Kenyans do not think the man has resigned. They feel the man has been pushed out, maybe for failing to meet the expectations of President William Ruto.
President William Ruto had warned Githii Mburu and other commissioners to put their house in order or he takes up the matter himself.
On the resignation of Githii Mburu, here’s a throwback to the day last year when President William Ruto read the Riot Act to the Githii & his fellow KRA Commissioners.
