NSSF Sets To Develop Its Idle Land

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is seeking a private partner to develop its idle land in Mombasa, Nairobi, and Kisumu in the next financial year in view of generating income for the benefit of its members.

The NSSF real estate partnership is geared toward supporting the Affordable Housing Programme (AHP) which is an initiative of the Kenya Government pillars under the ‘Big 4 Agenda’ which ensures that low and middle-income Kenyans own a home.

Speaking during an inspection tour of the NSSF Bamburi Plot and Hazina Plaza formerly Polana Hotel in Mombasa Central Business District, Labour CS Florence Bore said adding value to those properties will boost NSSF member returns.

The CS who was who was on a guided tour by the NSSF Board of Trustees led the Board Chairman Anthony Munyiri assured the Board of Trustees of the government support in ensuring NSSF meets its mandate in social security.

The Board Chairman Mr. Munyiri said the Fund will come up with a mixed development real estate development on the 14-acre Bamburi land in view of maximizing returns on member savings.
