Do you think we need 50 CASs?
What is your take on the qualifications of those who have been nominated?
President William Ruto has nominated at least 50 people that he hopes will be approved by the National Assembly as Chief Administrative Secretaries (CAS).
Coming at a time the government is trying to cut on costs, the list seems outrageous, with tongues wagging across social media platforms.
Among some notable “funny appointments” are the appointment of Millicent Omanga as the Chief Administrative Secretary under the Ministry of Interior.
Most of the appointees are politicians underscoring the need to have politicians as far from the civil service as possible. The majority of those who have been appointed seem to have been rewarded for their “unwavering support” for the Kenya Kwanza Government.
The Rise In Wage Bill
With the current appointments, it is obvious that Kenyans are going to pay through the nose to sustain the current government in terms of paying salaries to its “officers”.
