Nicholas Kiplangat, a police officer, won a handsome 11,143,139 shillings (11.14 million shillings) bonus from the SportPesa Mega Jackpot.
Kiplangat correctly predicted 16 out of the 17 games in the progressive jackpot and instantly became a millionaire.
As the SportPesa Mega Jackpot amount continues to rise, making it the biggest Mega Jackpot amount in the region, a person from a profession one would least expect walked away with a whopping 11 million shillings in bonuses last week.
If only the lucky man had picked a win for the visiting team in game number one of the mega jackpot selection – Rotherham United vs Cardiff, he would have won an unbelievable 291,623,094 shillings. His selection was instead a draw and missing out on that one game meant that he was not to become the 4th individual winner of the Mega Jackpot.

“I am so happy that I managed to win over 11 million shillings but I would be lying if I said that I am not thinking about missing out on the entire jackpot. I cannot believe that it is only one match that made me miss out on Ksh291 million which would have made me so well-off financially to invest in several projects,” said the 36-year-old.
Kiplangat has expressed his intent to build rental homes that will at least guarantee him a steady monthly income. He is a huge football fan and locally he is a Kenya Police FC fan aside from his unwavering support for English Premier League leaders Arsenal FC.
Since no one won last weekend, the SportPesa MJP – the only progressive jackpot in the country – has increased to Ksh292,557,298 and will kick off on Saturday, March 25th at 6 pm.
