As the country continues to come to terms with the horror of bodies being exhumed at Shakahola, in Kilifi County, the government has moved to arrest another flamboyant preacher, Pastor Ezekiel Odero of New Life Prayer Center at Mavueni in Malindi.
Pastor Ezekiel, as he is commonly known is being accused of mass deaths at his church and prayer meetings as well as being an associate of Paul MacKenzie, the man being more than 100 deaths of his church members whom he forced to fast to death.
It is notified for information of the general public that today Thursday, 27th April 2023, Mr Ezekiel Ombok Odero the Head of New Life Prayer Centre/Church at Mavueni within Malindi Sub-County of Kilifi County has been arrested and is being processed to face criminal charges… pic.twitter.com/78EHEoH08l

More than 100 people were found at the church of Pastor Ezekiel and have been ordered to record statements with the DCI. The church has since been shut down. Ezekiel has been moving with the high and the mighty and is a close associate with the wife of the Deputy President of Kenya, Dorcas Rigathi Gachagua.
The Shakahola massacre has brought to the surface the need for Kenya to relook at cultic religious leaders who are leading people astray. There are calls for the government to investigate another flamboyant pastor, David Owuor of Repentance and Holiness. Owuor has been accused of brainwashing his followers too.
