5 Simple Signs You Or Your Family Member Has Joined A Cult

KEY POINTS
Karl Max said that religion is the opium of the masses, the maintainer of the status quo, and the exploiter of the poor. In Kenya, religion has ensured that the poor are poor, the fools are dead, and the rich are richer. And this will not stop soon.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
The saddest thing about Pastor McKenzie is that those who have been rescued are refusing to eat or be helped. They just want to die. They just want to see Jesus as promised by their Pastor. They have been so zombified that reasoning has left them.
Everyone in Kenya is talking about Pastor Paul McKenzie. Everyone is genuinely shocked and millions acting surprised at what is happening. So far, 73 bodies have been exhumed from his land where he forces his followers to fast to death as they wait for Jesus to come.
The saddest thing about Pastor McKenzie is that those who have been rescued are refusing to eat or be helped. They just want to die. They just want to see Jesus as promised by their Pastor. They have been so zombified that reasoning has left them.
In McKenzie’s case, there is an air hostess who left her job, sold her land at 7 million shillings, took all the money to McKenzie, and started fasting to death. Her body was among those exhumed.
There is also a professor, who quit his job, sold his property and took everything to the man, and started fasting to death. His body is among the exhumed ones.
And people have been asking; how stupid can people be to be told by another man to fast to death to see Jesus and they just follow blindly? Of course, people do not know the extent of religious fanatism and cultism.

Here are signs someone might be in a cult:
- They have more trust in their pastor or religious leader than anything else. You will see them worshiping their religious leader, calling him names such as The Mighty Prophet of the Lord, Daddy, Mummy, and Mtumishi among others. They are ready to do anything that the “Man of God” tells them. They are ready to die to defend him/her.
- They pray over anything and everything. Did you know that there are men/women out there who pray before having sex with their partners? Imagine being in the mood and all of a sudden your partner breaks into prayers and speaking in tongues “blessing the act” before you can “get into it.”
- They become religiously notorious to the point of being unreasonable. There are people who eat, breathe, and sleep religion and you will never tell them anything. To them, any voice that is of contrary opinion belongs to the Devil, Shetani Mchafu.
- They dedicate their kids “to the Lord.” The moment you see a parent taking their kids to church and saying that they have “dedicated them to the Lord,” and start forcing them to dress in a certain way, memorize verses and pray over things they don’t understand, it is a cult.
- They become stupid. They stop going to work, they stop going to the hospital, they start fasting, they start speaking things that do not make sense, and they become overzealous and believe that they are about to go to heaven.
It is about time we call out stupidity that is being displayed as religion. The massacre in Kilifi by McKenzie should take us back to the drawing board. We should rethink religion right now.
