Java House has launched a new branch, its 84th in the region in Nairobi’s bustling Eastleigh neighborhood, signaling a desire by Java to get closer to its guests in their locale by growing its footprint. The new branch is poised to captivate diners by offering more casual dining options in the area.

According to Priscilla Gathungu, CEO of Java House, the growth is part of the brand’s ambition to reach a wider audience with its signature Java menu customized to cater to each market segment. Guests will be able to enjoy and experience the full Halal-compliant menu, Java’s famous coffee, and other retail items in its range while also enjoying the convenience of online delivery through partners such as Carrefour, Glovo, Jumia Foods, Bolt Foods, Uber Eats, and Little Cab.

“Being the market leader in the casual dining space in this region, we want to continue to innovate our experience based on what our guests are telling us. Our guests’ needs are constantly evolving, and we want to adapt to these changes,” said Gathungu.

She added: “Eastleigh is a bustling hub of activity. We have 100,000 people coming into Eastleigh daily with 30,000 of those coming for work-related activity and that number gets to over 250,000 over the holiday periods. You have to respect the work ethic and collaboration that goes into building this kind of vibrant community and collaboration and that’s why it makes sense to be here and to be that.”

Located at the new Business Bay Square Mall, the new outlet joins Java’s growing list of Halal-compliant branches in the region. Business Bay has also attracted a good mix of tenants making it a destination mall for those in the area.

Speaking at the opening, Wachera Maina, Tenant Coordinator, at Business Bay Square Mall, said: “Hosting the region’s leading casual dining establishment provides a healthy addition to the mix of businesses that the mall is home to. We are confident that the restaurant will serve as an attraction to many visitors to the area, and drive the community growing within our mall.”

Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Asmali, a representative of the Eastleigh Business Community, commended the brand on serving the bustling Nairobi neighborhood.

“We are excited to have the Java brand serve the community. Eastleigh attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each day, all of whom now have the opportunity to interact with Java’s products. There are many opportunities for mutual benefit between the community and the brand as suppliers, partners, customers, through CSR initiatives, and creating new job opportunities for the people within the community,” said Asmali.

Through its investments, the restaurant chain has expressed confidence in the growing consumer base in the region while also providing new opportunities for collaboration with suppliers and partners. The new branch creates additional opportunities for the employment of baristas, chefs, and hospitality staff while providing a boost to delivery service providers within the Eastleigh area.

Since opening its doors in 1999 in Nairobi, Java has grown to serve a loyal customer base spanning East Africa and three sister brands, Kukito, Planet Yoghurt, and 360 Degrees Pizza.
