List Of Colleges Offering Illegal Degree Courses According To CUE

On June 27th June, the Commission for University Education (CUE) listed 13 institutions it claimed are offering degree, postgraduate, and diploma programs without its grant of authority to operate.

According to the notice released by CUE, they warned members of the public against enrolling in the institutions, adding that they were not authorized to offer the select courses.

“Members of the public are hereby being notified that any institution purporting to offer university education in Kenya and does not appear in this list is an illegal entity and is not authorized to operate,” CUE warned.

A Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in Theology, a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology, and a Bachelor of Theology Master of Christian Leadership are Some of the programs offered by the listed institutions.

  3. Grace Life Bible College
  4. Africa Theological Seminary
  5. Regions Beyond Ministry Bible College
  6. Baraton College
  7. Africa Talent University
  8. Breakthrough Bible College
  9. Theophilus Theological College
  10. Northwestern Christian University
  11. Logos University
  12. Harvest Land Unversity
  13. Word of Faith Bible College

The commission listed all approved institutions in the country, including their year of establishment and accreditation. CUE advised individuals to visit the commission’s website at cue.or.ke/index.php/status-of-universities for any updates on all accredited universities authorized to operate in Kenya

Details of all suspicious institutions should be forwarded to Commission Secretary/Chief Executive Officer Commission for University Education, P.O. Box 54999-00200, and emails addressed to info@cue.or.ke.

CUE has also advised those seeking degree qualifications offered by foreign universities should be accessed via cue.or.ke/index.php/recognition-and-equation-of-qualifications1.

The Universities Act 2012 Section 28 (5), says anyone who purports to offer a degree through a university that is not accredited commits an offense and shall be liable upon conviction to a fine of not less than Ksh10 million, or to imprisonment for a term of not less than three years or to both.
