NCBA Opens New Branch In Chwele, Kenya’s Second-Largest Open-Air Market

NCBA has opened its 85^th branch at Chwele Market in Bungoma County in a bid to bring services closer to customers in Bungoma County and the Greater Western Region. Chwele is the newest municipality in Bungoma County and the second-largest open-air market in Kenya after Karatina.

The new branch was inaugurated by H.E. Governor Kenneth Lusaka in an event attended by NCBA’s top leadership led by NCBA Group Executive Director and CFO – David Abwoga and area leaders.

Speaking during the branch opening, NCBA Group Executive Director and CFO – David Abwoga expressed delight at the opening of the new branch which will greatly facilitate the Bank’s customers.

The new branch is the 85^th in the NCBA Bank Kenya branch network and the 2^nd branch in Bungoma County making the county the 10^th County to have more than one NCBA branch. The branch began operations on 28th February 2023. Since then, with the help of 8 staff members, more than 270 customers have benefitted from our entry into the market.

“Bungoma boasts a population of close to 2 million people with a density of about 600 persons per square kilometer. The opening of this second branch, therefore marks the start of financial freedom for business operators, residents, schools, and other customers who transact large amounts of money in the county and Chwele. Previously, most of them would have to travel to Bungoma or use other mobile financial platforms to satisfy their business needs. Not anymore. Kenneth Lusaka, Governor, of Bungoma County.

In a bid to address customers’ needs, the Chwele Branch will focus on providing customers with a broad range of financial products and solutions including savings and current accounts, loans, investment solutions for wholesalers, and asset finance solutions for retailers. The mobile and Internet banking services will also enable customers to access their accounts from anywhere at any time.
