Equities Turnover Jumps 159%, Ends The Day At Ksh 403 Million

KEY POINTS

Safaricom Group was the most traded counter on the day – accounting for 70.19 percent of the total market activity. The stock’s turnover came in at 283.12 million shillings – with net outflows amounting to 24.6 million shillings.

On Tuesday, Equities Turnover jumped by 159.05 percent to 403.39 million shillings up from 155.72 million shillings the previous trading day.

Stats compiled by Genghis Capital showed that local investors were the dominant players of the day on Tuesday. They accounted for 50.6 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign investors remained bearish on key blue chips to print net outflows of 9.01 million shillings in the day.

The IFB bond segment was the highest-grossing segment of the day – accounting for 84 percent of trades above 50 million shillings.

IFB1/2023/007 was the most traded paper of the day.
