Equities Turnover Ups 54.1% To Ksh 378.6 Million On Wednesday

Equities 

Turnover rose by 54.1 percent to 378.6 million shillings up from 245.7 million shillings the previous trading day (Tuesday). Local investors were the dominant players on the day. They accounted for c. 56 percent of the total market turnover.

Foreign investors remained bearish on key blue chips to print net outflows of 282.8 million shillings in the day.

Safaricom Group was the most traded counter on the day – accounting for 94.1 percent of the total market activity. The stock’s turnover came in at 35.5 million – with net outflows amounting to 277.3 million shillings.

Fixed Income

Turnover rose by 15.5 percent to 2.2 billion shillings up from 1.90 billion shillings the previous trading day.
